According to Pattaya police, an Indian guy is suspected of killing his Thai fiancée by strangulation and then jumping into a river in Chachoengsao to terminate his own life. This morning, his body was discovered.
. Following a report of a murder at a Pattaya hotel, the identity of the victim was kept under wraps until the inquiry was complete. Emergency reaction teams and forensic officers promptly arrived at the scene.
Jirapa Wongputtakham, 25, was found dead there with obvious evidence of foul play. According to forensic investigators, the Thai woman’s shoelace was tied around her neck, causing her to suffocate to death. At the site, which was a room on the third floor of the hotel, there were obvious signs of fighting and strewn items.
The victim’s boyfriend, 26-year-old Indian national Narendra Soni, was promptly recognised by Pattaya police as the suspect. Jirapa and Narendra had been dating for around a year when they made plans to meet at the aforementioned hotel room to work out their personal relationship problems, according to the victim’s aunt, Ms. Parawadee Saetern, 47.
The accommodation was booked yesterday afternoon, and Parawadee decided to visit the room at night after suddenly losing contact with Jirapa, only to find her lifeless body beside a bed.
Ms. Parawadee continued by saying that after discovering the body, she tried to contact the suspect via video call. However, Narendra informed her that he intended to commit himself by plunging over a bridge into the Bang Pakong River in Chachoengsao. Then he abruptly hung up and was never heard from again.
The body of Mr Narendra was discovered in the Bang Pakong River in Moo 9, Bang Pakong sub-district, Bang Pakong district, Chachoengsao, according to Pol. Capt. Suriya Phumwat, deputy investigator at the Bang Pakong Police Station, who made the announcement at 8 AM on November 21. The rescue team, which was in a boat with the police, pulled the body from the river and brought it back to the beach.
Jirapa and Narendra’s bodies will first be taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Police General Hospital so that a postmortem can be performed. The cause of the startling incident is still being looked into.
