British Farther Seeks Help in Child Wars

Adrian, a 52-year-old British man, is deeply distressed over his 7-year-old daughter’s safety, as she faces violent threats from her Thai mother, Sudarat. In a desperate plea for help, Adrian sent a video clip from Britain to Sudarat’s former mother-in-law, urgently seeking assistance for his child.

During a video call with Sudarat, Adrian recorded the distressing footage and shared it with Mrs. Aree, Sudarat’s ex-husband’s mother, who resides in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, hoping for swift intervention. His emotions ran high, evident in his tearful pleas.

Upon receiving Adrian’s message, Mrs. Aree sought aid from Mrs. Somsri Ngamprasert, a 61-year-old village committee member in Bang Pu Subdistrict, Samut Prakan Province, who is familiar with Sudarat and resides in the same village. Mrs. Aree hoped for a quick resolution to the alarming situation.

However, when Mrs. Somsri visited Sudarat’s residence, she discovered that Sudarat had already absconded with her daughter, potentially to Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, leaving behind her 14-year-old son, Yo, from her previous marriage. Without delay, Mrs. Somsri filed a report at the Bang Pu Police Station on May 4, 2024, and alerted the media on May 5, urging relevant authorities to assist in ensuring the child’s safety.

Mrs. Somsri disclosed Sudarat’s tumultuous history, indicating her prior marriage to a Thai man, with whom she had a son before divorcing. Sudarat subsequently married Adrian, with whom she shares a daughter. Adrian, based in England for work, provided monthly child support but made sporadic visits. Sudarat’s financial woes led to disturbing behavior, including threats towards their daughter during video calls demanding money. Adrian complied each time, fearing for his daughter’s safety.

As Sudarat’s actions escalated, Adrian turned to Mrs. Aree for help, providing recorded evidence of Sudarat’s behavior during video calls. Adrian expressed his intention to travel to Thailand soon to retrieve his daughter and raise her himself, urging media coverage to garner support from authorities.

Yo, Sudarat’s son from her previous marriage, recounted his mother’s volatile behavior and expressed concern for his sister’s safety. Sudarat’s threats, including the recent demand for 17,000 baht for Yo’s school uniform, instilled fear in him. Adrian reluctantly transferred the money, unsure of its purpose.

Yo hopes for his sister’s safety and advocates for Adrian’s intervention. Despite his mother’s actions, Yo wishes for her to receive help and emphasizes his enduring love for her.
