Two People Arrested in Phuket Due to Selling Cannabis Illegally

Two store owners in Phuket Town were detained on suspicion of illegally selling marijuana and selling it on public sidewalks.

According to the Phuket City Police, cannabis stores on Rassada Road and Thep Krasattri Road in Phuket Town were examined on Friday night (April 14) by a team of Phuket Provincial Officers and the Phuket City Police.

Unlicensed sales of cannabis buds were discovered at one store. The store owner was transported to the Phuket City Police Station to answer for allegedly selling cannabis buds (a controlled herb) without a license.

It was discovered that a second marijuana store, which had a permit, was operating on a public pathway and selling marijuana. The shop’s license has been put on hold, and the marijuana vendor will be removed from the sidewalk.

The names of the suspects were withheld by Phuket police. The Phuket Police also announced that they would keep up a fierce campaign against the unlawful sale of cannabis.
