Pattaya Putting Power Lines Underground

Mayor Mr. Poramase Ngampiches announced significant progress on the city’s project to place power lines underground, backed by a budget of 3.1 billion baht. This initiative includes installing underground power lines, relocating high-voltage overhead lines, reorganizing power cables, and setting up communication infrastructure along nine key routes, covering a total distance of 20 kilometers within the city.

Mr. Poramase noted that Pattaya was chosen as one of four pilot cities by the Thai Cabinet in 2017 to move most of its overhead wires underground. The project aims to enhance the city’s image and improve the quality of life for Pattaya residents. The implementation is divided into three phases across nine main routes in Pattaya: Pattaya North Road, Pattaya Central Road, Sukhumvit Road, Pattaya One Road, Pattaya Second Road, Pattaya Third Road, Soi Buakhao, Pattaya South Road Section 1, and Pattaya South Road Section 2.
