Navy shuts down luxury resort in Sattahip

A luxury resort known as “Star Oversea” became entangled in a difficult problem, forcing it to permanently close its doors and cut off power to its six sumptuous container apartments. The resort, which had been boasting its luxurious features on social media, sat atop Samae Sarn Luang Pho Dam Hill in Sattahip District, with stunning sea-facing views.
Since its grand opening on February 8, the resort has been subjected to a barrage of criticism, raising severe concerns about the legality of its construction and management. The resort was built on land classified as royal property, which is at the heart of the debate strictly under the jurisdiction of the Royal Thai Navy. This blatant violation of land usage regulations raised legitimate concerns about adherence to the law.

A team of police officers and officials from the Sattahip Sub-District Administrative Organization led by the commander of the Sattahip Naval Base conducted a thorough investigation of the resort and its activities.
The inspection proved beyond doubt that the resort was located on property carefully monitored by the Royal Thai Navy. Following this disclosure, the resort’s management was soon served with a severe directive to immediately suspend all business operations and remove any prohibited structures from the site. As a result, the power to the resort’s six container units was shut off. Resort administrators acknowledged the gravity of the issue and ensured that they would follow the authorities’ directions.

However, subsequent social media charges have put doubt on the resort’s apparent closure, implying that it may be secretly operating long after the shutter. In response to these grave concerns, authorities have appointed appropriate professionals to conduct thorough investigations and ensure complete compliance with the shutdown order.
As the story unfolds, concerns linger regarding how the resort was permitted to operate essentially unchecked for several months on ground reserved for the Royal Thai Navy. The controversy has emphasized the significance of adhering to land-use restrictions and establishing accountability at all levels in order to protect the integrity of designated areas and the rule of law.
