Sanook reports that the new Thai Civil Aviation Authority has banned a wide range of food, liquids, and cosmetic products from all airports and passenger flights.
Any product must now be under 100 milliliters or they are no longer permitted in passenger areas at airports or on any aircraft.
The list includes toothpaste, shampoo, sauce, jam, and perfumes.
The ban applies to all 28 airports under the CAA authority. Amphawan Wannago was in a video conference with airports regarding the implementation of the ban on Friday.
Airport warning signs in Thai show that popular foods such as curry and “nam prik” (a condiment) are also banned if in sufficient quantity.
Each passenger must also have less than a combined total of 1,000 milliliters of such products. Products must also be in sealed containers specifying the quantity.
Other items on the banned list include:
Water, drinks, soup, syrup, jam, stew, sauce, nam prik, foods in sauce, creams, lotions, cosmetics, oil, perfume, toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, spray, foam, mascara, lipstick and lip balm.
