The most recent arrangement is for Kimpton Pattaya, marking the second time the two companies have worked together on a Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants establishment in the nation.
Everything at one place
The Aquatique, an AWC idea that will be a first-of-its-kind in Pattaya as an all-in-one coastal attraction, will include the newbuild, which is scheduled to open in early 2028.
A shopping mall, hotels, a theme park, a performing art venue, and a F&B seafood market will all be included in the project, which will be built close to Pattaya’s beach.
Inspiration from nature
The 193-room hotel will be surrounded by natural elements and inspired by them.
Four restaurants and bars, 630 square meters of meeting space, a cooking studio with designated stations, a health and fitness center, a spa, and a pool with direct access to a community mall are just a few of the amenities available.
Continued collaboration
The 302 room InterContinental Chiang Mai is one of five properties already part of the strategic alliance between IHG and AWC. Two hotels in Bangkok’s Chinatown, the 63-room Vignette Collection Bangkok Chinatown and the 332-room InterContinental Bangkok Chinatown, as well as the 124-room Kimpton Hua Hin and the 234-room Vignette Collection Pattaya, will debut this year.
“Our partnership with AWC goes from strength to strength,” said Rajit Sukumaran, MD of IHG’s South East Asia and Korea region. “Thanks to this most recent partnership for Kimpton Pattaya, together we have now signed 1,250 rooms across six fantastic properties in the past three years, in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, and Pattaya.”
This will be the fifth property signed by Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in Thailand, demonstrating the trust owners have in the brand. “I’m delighted that Kimpton Pattaya is joining Vignette Collection Pattaya, which is also located in Aquatique Pattaya, and two open hotels — InterContinental Pattaya and Holiday Inn Pattaya — in the district, establishing IHG as a market leader in Pattaya,” said one customer. “The brand already has a strong following among affluent and discerning travelers.”
favored location
“We are very happy to continue our long-term strategic partnership with IHG to bring top-tier hotel brands to one of Thailand’s leading beachfront destinations,” said Wallapa Traisorat, CEO and president of AWC. Following the signing of a multi-property deal with IHG in 2020, the first Kimpton hotel will open in Pattaya. This outstanding brand offers a bold, fun design and award-winning dining experiences for a memorable visit.
The Kimpton brand will help Pattaya become a more well-known seaside destination by introducing world-famous companies to a larger consumer base. Pattaya is only a few hours’ drive from Bangkok. In Pattaya, one of the most well-liked vacation and business destinations, AWC observes significant demand in the lifestyle luxury and family segments.
This demand is consistent with AWC’s objective to create quality properties in key locations by extending our portfolio in downtown Pattaya. The Kimpton Pattaya, a part of the Aquatique mega mixed-use development by AWC in Pattaya, will help bring the area to a new level of luxury with a renowned hotel operator and a variety of activities in the complex, enhancing the local communities and society.
Thailand doubles
IHG continues to see excellent growth in the Thai market. The company’s goal is to double its estate across all of its brands by 2026 and extend its luxury and lifestyle portfolio by 50% in the nation with the signing of Kimpton Pattaya.
With 76 open hotels as of year’s end 2022 and a pipeline of 41 more in places like Mexico City, Roatan in the Caribbean, and Bali, Kimpton’s global expansion is still progressing quickly and will soon surpass 100 properties worldwide.
