Former Thai Actress Accuses British Husband of Fraud and Infidelity, Seeks Justice

BANGKOK, THAILAND – In a heartbreaking plea for justice, Ladda Khantiphok, a former Thai television actress, has accused her British husband, Ian, of swindling her life savings and engaging in infidelity. Desperate for legal assistance, she is calling on news agencies and legal professionals to help her reclaim her stolen funds and finalize a long-overdue divorce.

From Love to Deception: A Costly Marriage

Ladda, 40, first gained public recognition in a 2005 anti-alcohol campaign by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation. Her personal life took a dramatic turn when she met Ian, a British cruise ship musician, through a dating app in 2019.

The pair married in 2020, though without a traditional ceremony or dowry. Ian, whose work kept him at sea for long periods, visited Ladda only three to four times a year. Despite the limited time together, she fully trusted him—until financial troubles surfaced in 2022.

A Web of Lies and Vanishing Funds

According to Ladda, Ian claimed he was facing financial difficulties due to delayed wages and persuaded her to lend him money. At first, he requested 120,000 baht (£2,700), but later asked for an additional 200,000 baht (£5,300), bringing the total to 320,000 baht (£8,000).

As time passed, Ian stopped visiting Thailand altogether, with two years passing without any contact. Suspicion turned into shock when Ladda received a phone call from another woman—who claimed to be Ian’s wife.

Realizing she had been deceived, Ladda demanded answers and repayment, but Ian remained unreachable.

Struggling for Justice & Financial Recovery

With no means of legal recourse on her own, Ladda now manages a laundry business and sells drinks to make ends meet. She has repeatedly tried to seek help from Thai news agencies, but one major news Facebook page declined to share her story.

Despite the setbacks, she refuses to remain silent. Ladda no longer wants Ian back, but she is determined to recover the money she lost and finalize her divorce.

She urges lawyers, government officials, or social justice groups to step in and assist her in holding Ian accountable.

“I just want my money back. I worked hard for it.”
