Thailand orders all swimming pools to remain closed

swimming pools

All public AND private swimming pools must remain closed in Thailand, says a spokesperson for the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration.

Natapanu Nopakun actually seems to believe that the closures will help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

He says there are a ‘number of unavoidable risk factors that prevent the opening of both public pools and in condominiums.’

According to him risk factors include saliva, which may help spread the infection, stress on breathing while swimming and difficulties in controlling or limiting the number of people using the swimming pool.

In addition, there are fears that people will congregate or socialize around communal pool areas, which would be in violation of the Emergency Decree currently in place in Thailand.

Family Marts, 7 Eleven, Tesco, Big C and all local markets remain open for business but nobody is allowed to go and sit by the pool or walk on the beach.

This is how you know it is not about your health.
