An suspected contract assassin who was number 186 on the Royal Thai Police’s list of hired guns was apprehended at a rubber plantation in the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat.
Nipon Srichumpuang, alias Bao, 41, was apprehended on Sunday afternoon, according to Pol Col Sakda Charoenkul, the Provincial Police Region 9’s deputy chief investigator. In tambon Ban Lam Nao, Bang Khan district, he was discovered hiding out in a cabin at a rubber plantation close to Nam Ning hamlet.
On February 12, 2018, Songkhla’s Nathawi Court issued an arrest warrant for him. He is accused of premeditated murder, illegally possessing a gun and ammunition, and illegally carrying a weapon in public.
Police discovered some methamphetamine pills, two.22 long rifles with 30 bullets each, a shotgun, a.45 semi-automatic pistol with 27 rounds, an M2 carbine rifle with 21 rounds, and some methamphetamine in the hut.
On December 18, 2017, a murder inside a grocery shop in Songkhla’s Sadao area was allegedly committed using a carbine. Arkhom Promsopha, 56, the head of the manufacturing division at the Hat Yai Rubber factory in tambon Prik, was shot and killed by gunmen.
Five individuals, including Mr. Nipon, have arrest orders issued for them. Three of them had already been detained, while one is still at large.
Police have identified Mr. Nipon as a contract murderer. On the police’s list of wanted gunmen, he is listed as number 186.
