A chaotic scene unfolded early on the morning of December 16 when a group of women engaged in a public brawl outside the Pattaya City Police Station. The altercation occurred at 1:46 AM, with the women, dressed provocatively, shouting and fighting on the beach in full view of tourists, despite attempts by others to intervene.
The situation escalated when two women, both estimated to be in their 40s or 50s and dressed in black, began pulling each other’s hair, slapping, and hurling insults. Their friends attempted to break up the fight, but their efforts were unsuccessful until the police arrived to separate the combatants.
The incident is part of an ongoing issue with this group of women, who are known for their revealing attire and tendency to gather near the coconut trees on the beach. Often referred to as the “Coconut Tree Girls,” they are notorious for approaching and soliciting attention from tourists, especially foreigners.
Despite efforts from local authorities to remove them, the women frequently return when the police are absent, further damaging Pattaya’s reputation as a popular tourist destination. In response to the brawl, Pattaya Police fined both parties involved and issued a warning, stressing the importance of maintaining the city’s image as a top tourist spot.
