Shotgun wedding 5 killed 1 injured

Before killing himself with a pistol at his own wedding celebration on Saturday night, authorities said, the bridegroom—a former ranger with a crippled leg—went on a shooting rampage that claimed four lives, including the bride. He also gravely injured another man.

A wedding celebration for the bridegroom, Chaturong Suksuk, 29, and his bride, Kanchana Pachunthuek, 44, was taking place at a residence in Moo 1 village in tambon Wang Nam Khieo, Wang Nam Khieo district, when the terrible tragedy happened at around 11.25 p.m.

Police from Wang Nam Khieo were dispatched to the area to conduct an investigation.

On Saturday morning, a traditional wedding ceremony took place at a house between Chaturong and Kanchana. After serving as a paramilitary ranger, Chaturong suffered a leg injury.

Before agreeing to get married legally, the two had been living together as a couple for three years. The bride was fifteen years older than Chaturong.

That evening, both sides’ guests and relatives joined a wedding celebration. Guests and family noticed that Chaturong did not appear to be as joyful as he should have been during the celebration.

Chaturong left the celebration abruptly late at night and headed to his car. The bride, her mother Kingthong Klajoho, 62, her younger sister Kornnipa Manato, 38, and a guest, Thong Nonkhunthod, 50, were all killed when he returned shortly after with a pistol. Bamrung Chatherat, a 28-year-old guest, suffered severe injuries.

Then Chaturong took a self-shot. He passed away right away.

The injured guy, Mr. Bamrung, was brought to Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital.

To ascertain the reason behind the murders, police were looking into it.
