Late night nightclub raid finds nothing wrong

Pattaya police raided a large nightclub on Third Road catering mostly to Thai nationals about 1:00 a.m. this morning, August 12th, 2023, but found nothing illegal despite ruining an evening of partying and enjoyment for over a hundred individuals.

The raid took place in the Ying Club.

Pol. Col. Thanapong Phothi, Chief of the Pattaya City Police Station, led the raid, which involved roughly fifty officers from the Pattaya police, tourist police, and Immigration.

According to Col. Thanapong, the raid was intended to uncover foreigners who may have overstayed their visas, as well as illegal drugs, guns, or other infractions.

According to Col. Thanapong, despite requiring all personnel and patrons to take a drug test, inspecting personal vehicles, and reviewing all current passports and IDs, no crimes were discovered.

Even the cat mascot, featured in the images, was checked and found to be faultless.

Nightclub raids have been repeatedly criticized on social media by clients for ruining their evenings, but Pattaya officers have stated that they are vital to keeping people safe and that most visitors like the raids since it demonstrates that officers care about their safety.

Col. Thanapong added that nightlife venue inspections would continue on a regular basis, noting that they keep people safe.
