A gold shop owner in the northern Thai province of Phitsanulok was arrested yesterday (Dec 21, 2019) and charged with involvement in a big drug trafficking network, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported.
Armed with an arrest warrant, more than 100 Narcotic Suppression Division (NSD) police and forensic officials swooped on eight gold shops owned by Mr. Pantanan Apichai-tanatip.
Mr. Pantanan’s father fled before the police swooped on his home and gold shops. The NSD will seek a court order to seize the assets of Mr. Pantanan and his father, said Thai Rath.
