Four days of Thailand’s Seven Days of Danger resulted in 158 deaths overall

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reported a total of 368 traffic accidents on the fourth day (April 14) of the Seven Days of Danger road safety campaign during Songkran (April 11th – April 17th), resulting in 44 fatalities and 368 injuries.

There were 368 accidents on April 14th, resulting in 44 fatalities and 368 injuries. The majority (35%) were brought on by excessive speed. In almost 83 percent of the collisions, motorbikes were involved. The majority of traffic incidents happened on highways between 7:01 and 8:00 p.m.

Bangkok, Nakhon Sawan, and Phitsanulok each had three fatalities, making them the provinces with the greatest death toll. With 16 traffic accidents and 16 injuries, Nan had the most accidents and injuries. Bangkok had the most fatalities, 12 in all, over the course of four days. With 45 incidents apiece, Chiang Mai, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Nan had the most accidents. With 48 injuries, Nakhon Si Thammarat had the most injuries overall.
