Lifeguards in the area first became aware of the problem when they heard shouts for help from other tourists. they rushed out to see what had happened and saw the victim struggling to catch a breath in the ocean. The managed to drag to body to shore but by that time, the victims was unconscious due to the large amount of water he had inhaled whilst struggling to breath.

Emergency assistance was immediately called for and lifeguards did all they could to pump the victim’s chest whilst they waited for help.

They told police that the man had been out on a small sailing boat and assume that he had fallen into the sea, but are unsure what caused the incident in the first place.

Police took several witness statements but will wait until the victim makes a full recovery before questioning him and only then will they make a decision regarding the investigation.
