The families of 13 victims burst with joy Monday night upon learning that 10-day-long rescue operations at the Tham Luang Cave have finally been successful.
“I am so glad that I cannot think of anything else,” an uncle of a 13-year-old football players of Mu Pa Academy Mae Sai said.
Flash floods hit the Tham Luang Cave in Chiang Rai province on June 23, stranding 12 young football players and their 25-year-old coach inside.
As all-out efforts have since taken off, victims’ family members have camped out in front of the cave to get updates and pray for the best.
Good news finally arrived on Monday night, after front-line rescuers confirmed that all 13 victims were found alive.
“I am over the moon,” a mother said.
