At 3am on the morning of October 11, Pattaya police were informed of a robbery and assault in front of the Pattaya Business Administration Technology College (PBAC) on naklua Road, Pattaya.
Mr Wasan Klinobchov and his wife Dussadee Tnavornrat, who own a well-known curry shop in north Pattaya, had a four baht gold necklace, worth around 80,000 baht, stolen as they were on their way home.
The suspect, however, fell off his motorbike as he made a getaway and Mrs Tnavornrat caught up with him in the middle of the road.
The suspect, aged between 20-25 years old fought back and knocked the lady down with a punch to the face.
As her husband went to help her the suspect escaped on a second motorbike being ridden by an accomplice.
Officers set up a checkpoint but failed to catch the thieves. However, they believe they know their identities and that they are part of a criminal gang who have been carrying out similar robberies around town.
