Crackdown on unlicensed foreign street vendors

On July 20, local police, the Department of Employment, and the Policy and Planning Division of the Pattaya City Administration worked together to conduct an inspection to crack down on foreign workers operating illegal street stalls in Pattaya City.

About 30 merchants were questioned and checked for legal documents during the investigation. Among them, two people who were selling things on the streets without the required authorization were discovered to be foreign workers.

The foreign workers were given the chance to show their papers and discuss their situation in accordance with customary practice. They did not, however, present legitimate permits. They received a strong warning regarding the dire repercussions of performing illegal work in the nation.

All foreign workers were reminded to follow labor regulations and get the required permissions before engaging in any employment activities within the city by the Pattaya City Administration and the Department of Employment.
