A British pensioner has been pictured flanked by several police officers with a black hood covering his head after being arrested in India over a huge drugs haul.
The man, who has been named as 76-year-old Stephen Slotwiner, was allegedly caught with various drugs at his rented accommodation in a village in Goa.
Police seized 512 grams of cannabis, along with 40 ecstasy pills, 80 grams of MDMA and a quantity of LSD said to be worth £16,000.
Slotwiner could face up to six months behind bars if convicted under India’s Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act.
A photo shows him seated wearing a pink vest, yellow shorts, and flip flops surrounded by nearly a dozen uniformed officers.
His face and head are covered by a black hood with a pair of eye holes cut out of it.
The raid is believed to have been ordered after police were tipped off about drug possession at the premises.
Those caught with a kilo or more of illegal substances face sentences of between 10 and 20 years in prison.
It was the latest in a series of police operations aimed at cracking down on the drug trade in the state, which is popular with tourists.
Others arrested during similar raids include a traveller from Bengaluru and a local restaurant owner.
