Billboards on walking street removed to make way for the cable project

On July 14, Pattaya City engineers began removing signboards from Walking Street as part of their ongoing efforts to improve the surroundings’ orderliness. This regulatory step comes before power lines and communication cables are buried.

The goal is to enhance the area’s overall beauty while upholding safety regulations including allowing unhindered access for ambulances and fire engines. This project, specifically the burying of communication cables, is a crucial part of the city’s overall expansion of its energy infrastructure.

Residents and businesses in and near Walking Street have experienced significant inconvenience as a result of recent road excavations and concurrent pedestrian route enhancements. With intentions to remove the electric poles in July, the project is already in the final stages of cable installation.

To ensure a successful execution, brief closures will be put in place in some areas of the region. However, delivery cars for nearby stores will still be allowed access in the morning, even though some areas might be blocked off to protect the workers. Within two months, the project is supposed to be finished in its entirety.
