A coach bus driver in Pattaya fled after hitting a foreign cyclist on May 8, leaving the cyclist injured on the road. Prak Pheaktra shared a video of the incident on May 10, which gained significant attention on social media.
The video depicted the foreign cyclist and a companion riding along a breakdown lane when a light blue coach bus veered and struck the cyclist. The impact caused the cyclist to fall, injuring his right arm. He managed to roll onto the roadside to avoid further harm before witnesses intervened and transported him to the hospital.
Responses to the video varied, with many condemning the bus driver’s recklessness, while others debated the foreign cyclist’s choice to ride on a busy road. Sittichok Kaewsa-nga, a Thai boxer from Fairtex Gym who witnessed the accident, expressed shock and concern for the victim’s well-being.
Despite the video circulating online, the injured cyclist had not filed a police report. Mueang Pattaya Police Station officers are actively searching for both the cyclist and the bus driver.
