A warrant for the arrest of the main suspect in the gruesome murder of a Thai woman in a leased Pattaya room on May 20 has been issued by the Pattaya court.Thai citizen Mr. Watcharaphon “Kik” Ansongkram, 39, has been named by Pattaya Police as the main suspect. In the weekend before last, he is said to have killed 32-year-old Ms. Rattana Thammarak in her leased home on Soi Chaloemphrakiat 19 in the Banglamung district of Chonburi province.
According to the authorities, Watcharaphon and the victim were probably dating. Although there were few details available about him, he was purportedly seen with her in her room just before her death was found on May 20th, according to authorities.
Ms. Rattana was stabbed once behind her right ear, once on the left side of her neck, five times in her face, three times on her left shoulder, and once on her left hand, according to an autopsy of the deceased. When it was found, her body had already started to rot.
Her mother, Mrs. Samran Thammarak, 59, and other family members visited the victim’s chamber on May 21 to carry out a religious ceremony to welcome the deceased’s spirit home. In an interview with The Pattaya News, Mrs. Samran claimed that her daughter started acting strangely after she started working at an undisclosed Pattaya bar.Rattana would frequently ask her mother to send money, stating that she was being harassed and had bruises to her face and was unable to work. Her mother frequently overheard Thai male voices speaking with her daughter on the calls.
Mrs Samran said that while she had never met Kik, the male partner of her daughter, she knew that she truly loved him. She also tragically revealed that despite numerous futile attempts to convince her daughter otherwise, she was fully aware of her daughter’s drug addiction.
According to Pattaya Police, the suspect’s motivation could be related to drugs or personal ties. Police in Pattaya are actively pursuing him as he is on the run.
