1 Killed in fiery car crash on the Bangkok- Map Ta Phut motorway

Law enforcement reported a tragic incident where a car collided with a street barrier on the Bangkok-Map Ta Phut Motorway near Pattaya and subsequently caught fire, resulting in the driver’s death.

This unfortunate event took place at approximately 5:40 AM on Friday, March 15th, 2024, close to kilometer marker 120+700 in the Nongprue sub-district of Banglamung district, Chonburi province. The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya Rescue Unit and the Highway Rescue Unit swiftly responded to the scene once alerted.

At the site, officials discovered a Honda HRV sedan engulfed in flames. Firefighters successfully doused the fire after an intense 20-minute operation, although the vehicle sustained significant damage. Tragically, the charred remains of an unidentified male were found within the car.
