Truck Driver Charged over Fake Number Plates

A tow truck driver has been charged after Thai social media spotted two vehicles – one a police car with the same number plates at an accident in Mae Jo on Saturday, April 20.

The picture – first posted by Mae Jo Police, shows the tow truck (described as a “private forklift” in Thai) parked at the scene of the accident (see above) with a police vehicle at the right both with the number plate Chiang Mai กธ 89.

It’s impossible in Thailand for a vehicle to have the same number plates as that of another vehicle.

While Thai media speculated as to who had the fake plates, Mae Jo Police (the owner of one of the vehicles) summed the owner of the tow truck to the station Sunday where they charged  him over the fake number plates.

Mae Jo Police also thanked the public for bringing the fake number plates to their attention.
