A terrible incident involving a tractor accident claimed the life of a Thai shipyard owner earlier today, creating a bleak sight on Pattaya’s Jomtien Beach. Around seven in the morning, the shipyard owner was using his tractor to try to extract his speedboat from the water near Jomtien Soi 10, when the event happened.
Manit Jaiman, 73, was found dead on the beach, surrounded by his family members who had arrived shortly after the accident, when Pattaya Police and rescue teams got on the site. Two parked tractors were discovered by the police, together with a speedboat that was still adrift at sea.
Police received a thorough account of the occurrence from Manit’s family and bystanders who observed the unfortunate event but wished to stay anonymous. They claimed that Manit was using his tractor to try to pull his speedboat out of the water. The Pattaya News said that because the tractor’s wheel got trapped in the sand, someone else brought a second tractor to help free the stranded vehicle.
The family was invited to the police station by police investigator Lieutenant Colonel Tatchasak Jiratikulchai to provide testimony. Manit’s body was later sent to Banglamung Hospital, where it is currently awaiting funeral arrangements.
