The board of the Government Lottery Office (GLO) approved the proposal to introduce two new lottery types: the three- and six-digit (L6) lotteries.
The Finance Ministry put forth the idea.
The L6 lottery will only be offered in digital form and will cost 80 baht a ticket, the same price as the current lotteries. According to Lavaron Sangsnit, the chairman of the Lottery Board, some of these lotteries will be marketed through the Pao Tang app.
Meanwhile, both physical and digital versions of the N3 lottery will be available for purchase. Physical lottery ticket sellers will have to electronically submit daily sales information to the GLO.
Lavaron, who serves as the director-general of the Revenue Department, stated that the N3 lottery’s pricing has not yet been determined.
According to him, the board and the Finance Ministry would modify both of the new lotteries’ specifics and submit the proposal for Cabinet approval.
Separately, the GLO board decided to withdraw the licenses of more than 12,000 lottery sellers who had broken the rules at its meeting on Friday. Almost 20,000 sellers have had their privileges terminated thus far, and more than 3 million tickets have been seized.
Recent winner moves to Khon Khaen
According to Lavaron, the board has decided to distribute 1 million of the confiscated tickets to current vendors under a quota system, with the remaining 2 million being sold through the Pao Tang application.
