The first extended holiday following the Spring Festival holiday in January, May Day, is seeing a spike in Chinese visitors visiting Thailand.
Thailand’s tourism sector, which had been eagerly awaiting the return of foreign visitors, has benefited from the surge of Chinese tourists.
According to Bangkok-based think tank Kasikorn Research Center, nearly 737,000 Chinese visitors traveled to Thailand between January 1 and April 23, a 30-fold rise over the same time the previous year.
