At a drinking gathering, a Thai man stabbed his friend in the arm for making fun of his girlfriend.
At 8:30 PM, Huay Yai police received a call reporting a violent incident in the Huay Yai neighborhood of Banglamung district, Chonburi province.
After communicating with the Sawang Boriboon emergency responders, they hurried to the scene.
Air conditioning technician, Mr. Attawut Phanthong, 30, was located by the authorities.
He had suffered a severe wound and significant bleeding in his left arm from the stabbing. After receiving first aid, he was transported to a nearby hospital.
The suspect, Mr. Somjai Thepsila, a 28-year-old air conditioning technician, and the victim were drinking together.
While Mr. Somjai was being caught, he continued to yell insults at his companion, who was hurt while waiting at the scene of the event.
Mr. Somjai claimed that although he had admitted to stabbing his friend, it was because the friend had been irritably disparaging his cherished girlfriend.
He said that despite his friendship with the victim dating back ten years, he was no longer able to put up with his friend’s constant jabs at his lover.
The police removed a 20-centimeter-long knife with bloodstains from the crime scene as evidence.
The defendant was taken into prison and is being prosecuted on several counts.
