On Friday evening, a Swiss man, 53, died after falling to his death from a parking structure at Phuket International Airport.
According to Pol Col Salan Santisatsanakul, head of Sakhu police station, police were called to the airport at around 7.30 p.m. on Friday after hearing that a foreign male had jumped from the parking structure and received injuries.
The ground floor of the building had bloodstains, which the cops discovered. According to Pol Col Salan, the injured tourist, whose identity has been withheld pending notification of family members, was confirmed dead when he arrived at Thalang Hospital.
Police think the visitor leapt on purpose. An airport security officer reported seeing the individual reportedly scanning the area since daybreak.
A 50-year-old Australian man died last month after falling to his death from the airport’s parking structure.
The Swiss consular office in Phuket is collaborating with the Tourist Assistance Centre (TAC) at the Phuket airport to get in touch with the deceased’s family members, according to Tourism and Sports Minister Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol.
Ms. Sudawan announced that the ministry would meet with the relevant agencies to explore ways to bolster safety precautions in the wake of the event.
She noted that tourists with issues or in need of assistance can get in touch with the TAC and tourist police at the Phuket airport and other airports around the nation, or by calling the tourist police call center at (852) 1155.
