Strange obstacles causing problems on Pattaya’s streets
As you can see from the pictures, the strange looking obstacles in the middle of the sidewalks are being used as make-shift garbage bins, much to the displeasure of both locals and tourists.
The obstacles, however, are nothing new, and reporters were told that they have been like that for years.
The structures can be found around the Pratumnak Hill area of Pattaya city. I’m not suggesting for anyone to rush to take a look, but it’s more a heads up to avoid them if you are out and about in the area.
Not only are they a nuisance for people walking, but they are building up with more and more garbage everyday and are starting to leave a permanent smell. What’s more, there are several dangerous looking spikes sticking straight up out of the ground and I dare say it is a fatality just waiting to happen.
Both locals and tourists have had enough of the problem and are now putting pressure on the authorities to do something about it. With all the noise coming out of Pattaya city hall about turning Pattaya into a “world class” family results, surely it’s these small details which should be addressed quickly.
Sophon cable have been on a mission of their own recently by highlighting problems just like this one and they too are increasing the pressure on the authorities to get things done.
