A 27-year-old Pattaya resident said he was brutally bludgeoned and slashed in his forehead by a group of his old friends. His mother claimed to the media that her son was attacked twice this month.
A deputy investigator from the Chonburi police station, Pol. Lt. Col. Pinyalak Sinworawiwat, visited Comephee Thungkhun, 27, at his residence in Soi Thung Klom-Tan Man in Banglamung’s Nongprue subdistrict to see how he was doing after he was reported to have survived a frightening experience.
The visit took place at 9.30 PM on Sunday, November 13th. Comephee said he miraculously managed to escape his assailants who bludgeoned him with a stick and slit his forehead with a knife by running blindly through the forest to get to his house located three kilometers from the incident scene.
The victim’s mother, Pao Karuanram, 57, told police her son was yelling for help in fright before collapsing and blacking out on her residence grounds. Pao pointed at her son’s bruised back and shoulders as well as a long cut on his forehead covered beneath a bandage.
Comephee, before being transported to Banglamung Hospital for treatment, revealed to police his attackers were his old friends, Phet and Scene (nicknames). The two alleged perpetrators were peeved after learning that Comephee reportedly messed with their female friend. Comephee affirmed that it was not true.
The mother added her son had been beaten by his friends earlier this month, but she was uncertain if Phet and Scene were involved.
The victim was having his body checked at Banglamung Hospital. The police said they would ask him for more information once he fully recovered.
