Police in Nongprue detained Mr. Chanachai Saino, 43, a native of the province of Ubon Ratchathani, on the suspicion that he had molested a young child. The victim was just two years old.
On Thursday, August 31st, police went to Chanachai’s Pong neighborhood home and placed him under arrest. He is a laborer in the building industry.
Chanachai rejected the charges at first, but then admitted handling the youngster inappropriately because he thought the kid had been bitten by an insect. He said he had treated the wound with an ointment and had otherwise cared for the infant since he loved it.
However, Deputy Chief of Investigation Pol. Lt. Col. Thanatat Chan-im stated that Chanachai had a history of indecent conduct. He was sentenced to prison time in 2003 after being found guilty of two indecent violations in Sisaket province. After being found not guilty of molestation in 2018, he was released and relocated to the area in question.
The police are awaiting the findings of the child’s physical checkup, according to Pol. Lt. Col. Thanatat.
According to the child’s grandma, Chanachai would frequently drop by while the mother was at work so that the two of them could play together. The details of his past surprised her.
The probe into Chanachai’s whereabouts continues while he is in detention.
