Russia to start evacuating citizens from Thailand

evacuating citizens

On Thursday a statement from the Russian Embassy in Thailand said that they have received over 15,000 appeals from Russians looking to be repatriated.

The statement has said that as from March 26th at 14:00 the Embassy had over 15.000 requests from Russian nationals to return back to Russia, this also included requests from Russians that are unable to return home as lack of funds.

A list has been sent to the task force of the Russian Foreign Ministry to look into this and try to organize the evacuation of Russian Nationals from Thailand.

The Ministry had said that more requests keep coming and all requests will be taken into account and that they expect that decisions will be made shortly.

As people are well aware, all shopping centres and markets in Bangkok have been closed with the exception of supermarkets and stores selling food and essentials.

These exceptions include diplomatic missions, the delivery of cargoes, foreign nationals with work permits and Thai nationals with official approvals from Embassies and health certificates, as well as any other trips allowed by the Prime Minister.

On March the 11th, The World Health Organization declared the Covid-19 outbreak to be a pandemic.

Meanwhile, Russia has found 840 virus cases so far with 38 patents that have recovered and two have died.
