Restoration work in Naklua underwent work under the direction of Deputy Mayor Manoch Nongyai

Yesterday, Chalerm Phrakiat Public Park in Old Town Naklua underwent restoration work under the direction of Manoch Nongyai, deputy mayor of Pattaya. The program is a part of the wider Neo Pattaya project, which intends to make Pattaya a major commercial and tourist destination in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) region.

Authorities intend to revitalize Old Town Naklua by showcasing its rich cultural legacy, traditions, and natural beauty through seven sub-projects as part of this ambitious endeavor, which is funded by a multimillion-baht budget.

The Neo Pattaya sub-projects include the creation of a parking structure for the market for tourism-related goods, which will cost 96 million baht; renovating the fresh seafood market, which will cost 4.5 million baht; and enhancing Chalerm Phrakiat Park, which will cost 30 million baht.

Other Neo Pattaya side projects include building a community fishing port, a nature path, an improved Pakong Naklua vantage point, a nature research trail along the Kong Nok Yang Canal, and a nature study trail. These projects are all expected to be finished by 2023. Manoch Nongyai stated to The Pattaya News during a recent visit to Chalerm Phrakiat Public Park that the park’s rehabilitation was 80% finished and was just missing a few minor elements.

By August, the park should be open to visitors in its entirety. Since the public has been inconvenienced by the park’s protracted closure, Pattaya City is making every effort to speed up the building process. The park will operate daily from 5am to 10pm during a trial period of its opening hours in the coming months.
