Residents enraged over series of burglaries take matters into their own hands, beating burglar.

Following a series of burglaries in a villa village situated on Soi Thappraya 15, Nongprue sub-district, a failed burglary attempt unfolded. The alleged repeat offender, 31-year-old Mr. Thanapat Sangjamrang, was apprehended by the Pattaya police subsequent to being subdued by residents of the village, resulting in multiple facial injuries for him.

Upon apprehension, Mr. Thanapat was discovered in possession of several thousand baht in cash believed to have been pilfered during break-ins at over three villas. All stolen goods were confiscated by officers as potential evidence before Mr. Thanapat was transported to the Pattaya Police Station for medical treatment and further interrogation.

According to Mr. Chatchai Thaentong, a 37-year-old caretaker of one of the affected residences, the suspect had previously targeted the village on multiple occasions but had always managed to elude capture. Eventually, through collaboration with Pattaya law enforcement, surveillance was set up in the area leading to the eventual arrest of Mr. Thanapat.
