An operation to round up wild boars that have been troubling a community in Ratchaburi began on Wednesday.
Officials from the Phachi River Wildlife Sanctuary and Tambon Loomdin Municipality used cages to trap 24 wild boars living near Wat Tha Klong in Moo 2 village in Tambon Lumdin in Ratchaburi’s Muang district.
The trapped boars were taken to Tambon Loomdin for rehabilitation and will be released into forests.
Officials said about 100 more boars need to be caught at the village.
They took action after local residents complained that the wild boars were raiding garbage bins for food, fouling roads with their excrement and threatening children.
