Police stealing lottery tickets from overpriced ticket seller

A lottery ticket seller from Nong Bua Lam Phu Province came to file a report  on the 27th of this month (June 2019) with the police about a policeman who stole 10 of his lottery tickets claiming that he had the right to do so as the seller was selling tickets at a price point higher than allowed by the government.

Police Captain Vichit Nokkaew from the Chokchai Police Station accepted the report. The ticket seller stated that a man claiming to be a policeman stole 10 lottery tickets from him without any payment on 16 March 2019. The policeman told the seller that the tickets were sold at a price higher than the allowed price by the government. At the time, the seller was selling tickets in Chokchai 4, Ladprao Road, Bangkok.

Turns out the man is really a policeman at another police station. This is not the first time he has taken lottery tickets from ticket sellers. He will walk to a ticket seller and take their lottery tickets without paying any money. When the seller asked for payment, the policeman would tell them that they had no right as the tickets were being sold overpriced.

The latest case happened with the lottery ticket seller from Nong Bua Lam Phu in this story. On the morning of 16th March 2019, the ticket seller was riding his bicycle when the policeman stopped and talked to the seller. The Policeman then asked the seller the price of the lottery tickets with the number 771057. Such tickets were sold in a set of 10 with a total price of 1,000 THB.

The lottery tickets are allowed to be sold at a price of 80 THB per ticket. When the policeman heard the price, he pulled the tickets and told the seller that they were overpriced. He then showed the ticket seller his Police ID and the handcuffs that he carried with him. The policeman then walked away with the tickets leaving the ticket seller in confusion.

Turns out the same policeman has done this many times with other lottery ticket sellers, but most of the sellers choose to stay silent as they don’t want to get in trouble. In this case, the ticket seller from Nong Bua Lam Phu will not give up and demands an answer from the policeman.
