As the New Year approaches, Pattaya City Police are ramping up efforts to ensure the safety and security of entertainment venues in the area. Led by Pol. Lt. Col. Sirachat Nootet, Deputy Superintendent of Pattaya City Police, a team of officers recently conducted a series of inspections at nightclubs, bars, and restaurants in the city.
These inspections are part of the “5 Safeguards” campaign, which aims to prevent and combat various crimes and hazards that can occur in entertainment establishments. The campaign focuses on key areas such as child safety, maintaining a drug-free environment, ensuring weapon-free zones, preventing human trafficking, and promoting fire safety.
During the inspections, compliance with safety guidelines for the use of fireworks during New Year celebrations was also emphasized. While fireworks are a popular attraction for tourists, they can pose a risk of fire and injury if not handled properly. Venue owners and managers were urged to follow rules and regulations, including using authorized fireworks, having adequate fire extinguishing equipment, and displaying clear fire escape routes.
The results of the inspections revealed that most establishments had taken necessary measures to check the identity and health status of their patrons. However, some venues were found to have insufficient or defective firefighting equipment, or lacked clear warning signs.
