Amidst enthusiastic support from her fans, Patty Tavatanakit clinched a remarkable victory at the Honda LPGA Thailand tournament, securing her place in the event’s history. Building on her recent triumph at the Ladies European Tour event in Saudi Arabia, the 24-year-old golfer displayed exceptional skill and determination to claim a one-stroke win at the US$1.7 million LPGA Tour event held at Siam Country Club.

Starting the final round with a three-shot lead, Patty delivered a stellar performance with a five-under-par 67 on the Old Course, finishing with a total score of 21-under 267. Her victory marked only the second time a home player has won the Honda LPGA Thailand in its 17-year history.

Expressing her emotions after the win, Patty shared her joy at achieving success in her home country and in front of her parents. She edged out Switzerland’s Albane Valenzuela by one stroke, with Korean golfers Kim Sei-Young and Choi Hye-Jin finishing in a tie for third place with a score of 270.

Despite maintaining a comfortable lead for most of the day, Patty faced a challenging moment with a bogey on the 15th hole, allowing Valenzuela to catch up. The Swiss golfer put up a strong fight, culminating in a nail-biting finish that required Patty to sink a birdie on the final hole to secure her victory.

Following her impressive performance on the course, Patty expressed gratitude to her team, supporters, and fellow players during the prize-giving ceremony. Her win not only earned her a substantial prize but also solidified her position among the top players in the world.

This victory marks Patty’s second LPGA Tour win, joining a select group of Thai golfers with multiple victories on the tour. Her remarkable achievement adds to the growing success of Thai golfers on the international stage.

Additionally, amateur golfer Suvichaya Vinijchaitham stood out in the competition, securing her LPGA Tour debut following a victory at the Honda LPGA Thailand National Qualifier. The tournament showcased remarkable talent and spirited performances from players across different levels of experience, adding to the excitement of the event.
