Mayor Poramase Ngampiches was asked by a Pattaya official to extend the city’s permitted nightlife area. Damrongkiat Pinitkan, a member of the Pattaya City Council, made the suggestion during a meeting on Friday.
Current zones, which have not altered since 2002, according to Damrongkiat, are outdated.
According to the law, entertainment venues can only be operated by operators on the right side of Pattaya Third Road from Bali Hai Pier down. However, he said that in addition to Jomtien and Naklua, other enterprises have recently emerged on the left side. These companies seek licenses, Damrongkiat added.
“When these venues are in the legal operating zones, they will benefit from the extension of the legal opening hours too.”
The Entertainment and Tourism Association of Pattaya was now instructed by Mayor Poramese to submit a formal written appeal to him for consideration by the Ministry of Interior.
Due to the commotion and people that nightlife increases frequently bring, some Pattaya residents have not been the biggest admirers. Around places like Pratumnak Hill and Na Jomtien Beach, disagreements have occurred between condos and nightlife establishments.
Businesses and merchants in Pattaya that serve visitors have in fact experienced conflict with locals. The Na Jomtien Municipality forbade all beach sellers in June because they were obstructing the walkways and beach area. Locals exhaled a sigh of relief and said they could now unwind in peace without having to cope with noise.
