In their Euro 2024 preparations, Germany secured a victory over the Netherlands, boosting confidence for the upcoming tournament on home soil.
Fresh off a notable 2-0 triumph against France, Germany staged a comeback against the Netherlands in Frankfurt, clinching a 1-0 win with Niclas Fullkrug’s 85th-minute goal.
Initially trailing to Joey Veerman’s early volley, Germany swiftly equalized through Maximilian Mittelstadt’s goal just seven minutes later.
The decisive goal came from Borussia Dortmund striker Fullkrug’s late header, securing Germany’s first consecutive wins under manager Julian Nagelsmann.
Reflecting on the victory, Nagelsmann expressed satisfaction, stating, “The win does us a lot of good.” He praised his team’s performance, highlighting their possession and tactical adaptability.
The Euro 2024 finals are set to kick off on June 14th at the Allianz Arena in Munich, where Germany will face Scotland in Group A, alongside Hungary and Switzerland.
Meanwhile, the Netherlands, despite making several lineup changes from their previous match against Scotland, have been placed in Group D alongside Poland, Austria, and France.
The tournament will culminate with the final on July 14th at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
