Drunk Russian arrested after violent attacks
On the night of September 13th, Pattaya police were called to arrest a drunk Russian man, after reports suggested he had attacked several people.
Pattaya police made the arrest of the Russian man who appeared drunk after he and his companions hit and injured a Thai man and a Hong Kong tourist on a Pattaya street late Wednesday night.
Witnesses told police several Russians were walking on the street at 10pm and quarreling with passers-by. When police were alerted and arrived at the scene, most of the group managed to escape and only one man was arrested.
Police did not reveal the name of the arrested Russian.
The injured Hong Kong tourist was identified as Wong Yuk Mo, 65. He suffered head injuries and was rushed to a hospital.
The Thai man, Patipha Paetkul, 20, a messenger, was also injured.
He said he was riding his motorcycle on a delivery when the group of men, including the arrested man, blocked his way. He said he tried to avoid the group but one of them hit his helmet and another pushed him, resulting in a fistfight before police arrived.
