Thai driver struck a ditch while heading from Chonburi’s Bowin subdistrict to Rayong province and sustained non-fatal injuries. According to reports, the driver acknowledged to falling asleep at the wheel.Near the entrance to the Sattahip district’s Forest Department, a black Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck left the road and crashed into a road railing before tumbling into a ditch that divided the road.
The incident happened this morning, May 1, around 3 AM in Chonburi’s Bang Lamung district’s Khao Mai Kaeo sub-district.The 43-year-old Thai driver, Mr. Sakchai Phleaplu, was freed by Sawang Boriboon rescuers from the wreckage of his car. The man was taken to a local hospital because he had tightness in his chest.Mr. Sakchai reportedly told the Huay Yai Police who reacted to the accident that he was traveling back to Rayong after seeing Mor Lam, a traditional form of music from Northeastern Thailand, in the Bowin region. Then he wrecked while dozing off behind the wheel.
