The business owners in Pattaya are pleased with the recent change in closing times for nightlife venues, which now allows them to operate until 4 a.m. Additionally, a special regulation will be implemented during the countdown day of December 31–January 1, 2024, in select districts, allowing clubs to remain open until 6 a.m.
This change is expected to have positive effects on the economy, particularly in the service sector, as it will increase tourist spending and bring more revenue to Pattaya’s business industry.
However, Bunanan Pattanasin, the director of the Pattaya Business and Tourism Association, emphasized the importance of having a safety plan in place to prevent any potential problems that may arise and impact businesses such as hotels and accommodation establishments.
This includes addressing the control of drugs and weapons. If these issues are effectively managed, it will greatly benefit the tourism sector in Pattaya. Bunanan also emphasized the need for everyone to adhere to the rules and regulations.
On the countdown day, he expressed his desire to keep stores open for as long as possible to allow everyone to celebrate, but he requested assistance from officials in coordinating security measures. Tourists were also urged to take care of themselves and act responsibly.
