A Thai woman severely injured her British husband with a knife following a quarrel at their rented room in Pattaya early on Tuesday, police said.
After being alerted of the incident at 6.30am, police and rescue workers rushed to the Pandia Apartment on Soi Bua Khao of South Pattaya in Chon Buri’s Bang Lamung district.
Rescuers performed first-aid treatment on Benjamin Laister Crowson, 28, and rushed him to a nearby hospital. He had cut wounds on both legs and his left arm.
Police took his wife, Monthita Buatong, 23, into custody and said they would interrogate the Briton before deciding the charges against her.
Monthita told police that she and Crowson had just returned from drinking outside overnight when her husband started a quarrel by cursing her parents, and so she had become angry and attacked him with a knife.
