Body washed up in Phuket

A man’s body has been washed up on Nai Harn Beach yesterday (Thursday) after he went fishing near the windmill in Rawai. Chalong police were notified at 10am this morning that the body was found floating near Nai Harn Beach.

The man was identified as 27-year-old Anuchit Palumpon. Police believe he died at least six hours earlier. His body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital.

A friend of Anuchit told police that at 1am they went out fishing near the windmill in Rawai. Anuchu went fishing near a big rock. His friend told him that it was too dangerous because of strong waves but he insisted. He was hit by a big wave and washed away, the friend reportedly said.
