Airbus A380 flights disclosed by Lufthansa

First Airbus A380 flights for the coming summer are disclosed by Lufthansa.

The German airline has announced the initial itineraries for the Airbus A380’s relaunch as it rejoins the fleet after a three-year absence.

The airline’s Airbus A380s will be based in Munich Airport (MUC), initially operating flights from the German city to Boston Logan International Airport and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) (JFK).

Initial service between MUC and BOS will be provided daily by Lufthansa beginning June 1, 2023, and service between MUC and JFK will be provided daily beginning July 4, 2023.

Ticket sales will start on March 23, 2023. Onboard the Lufthansa A380, there will be a total of 509 seats spread across four classes: 8 First Class, 78 Business Class, 52 Premium Economy, and 371 Economy Class seats.

In response to the increasing demand for travel in the forthcoming months, the German airline chose to revive the Airbus A380 for the upcoming summer travel season in 2022. One of the explanations given by Lufthansa for the reactivation of the Super Jumbo was delays in the supply of new aircraft.

Lufthansa intends to operate four Airbus A380s out of MUC by the end of 2023, with plans to add two more of the model by the end of 2024. However, the airline does not currently have any long-term plans to operate the double-decker jet.

The business stated that its long-haul fleet will eventually include of the Boeing 747-8, 777-300, 777X-9, and 787-9, as well as the Airbus A350-900 and -1000, A330-300, and.

Before to decommissioning all of its A380s due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Lufthansa owned 14 of the type, six of which will be returned to Airbus by November 2023.
