Indian Tourists Attacked in Pattaya Over Alleged Sexual Assault
Two Indian men were attacked by a group of Thai locals near Pattaya Beach after allegedly groping two Thai women in the early hours of February 20.
The incident occurred around 5:30 AM and was captured on CCTV. The footage shows the Indian men fleeing as the Thai women screamed for help, prompting motorcycle taxi riders and bystanders to intervene. The altercation resulted in injuries to five individuals, including the two Indian men, two Thai women, and a motorcycle taxi rider.
According to a report by Channel 7, the conflict stemmed from an alleged act of sexual harassment. Six Indian men approached two Thai women on the beach, engaging them in conversation. During the interaction, two of the men allegedly groped the women’s breasts and bottoms. One of them reportedly recorded the incident, further aggravating the victims. When the women demanded the deletion of the video, the suspect refused, leading to an argument.

At this point, four of the Indian men left, while the remaining two stayed behind. The situation escalated when one of the Indian men allegedly punched a Thai woman in the eye, triggering a physical confrontation. The two men attempted to flee but were pursued by the women, who sought help from bystanders.
The CCTV footage captured the chaos, with the women demanding compensation from the Indian men, who refused. A motorcycle taxi rider, identified as Ruengsak, stepped in to assist but was reportedly punched in the face, causing him to collapse and sustain a knee injury.
Officers from Mueang Pattaya Police Station arrived at the scene and transported the injured individuals to a hospital.
