The Ministry of the Interior has announced that, from April 15th to October 15th, travelers entering and exiting Thailand through all eight land and cruise port checkpoints will be exempt from filing T.M.6 forms.
The policy is designed to enhance convenience, promote tourism, and stimulate the national economy.
This exemption is part of broader government efforts to boost tourism and alleviate congestion at immigration checkpoints, aiming to improve Thailand’s international image. It applies to all eight land checkpoints, including Aranyaprathet, Mukdahan, Nong Khai, and Betong, as well as eight cruise and sports port checkpoints, including those in Pattaya, Phuket, and Samui.
The ministry highlighted that eliminating the requirement for the T.M.6 form will reduce congestion and simplify entry procedures. This is expected to encourage more travel and investment in Thailand, ultimately benefiting the economy over the long term.
The T.M.6 form, which foreigners complete upon entering and leaving Thailand, had played a critical role in ensuring their safety and the nation’s security. It details the visitors’ purpose of visit, such as tourism or employment, and their stay duration.
